Hi. I have a V8 '01 discovery. A few months ago it had started to leak coolant so I took it to the dealer and they told me that I need to replace the head gasket so I did. Everything was working fine until now. It's leaking again. Could it be the gasket again?
Thanks for any advise.

Is it leaking coolant or losing coolant? they can be different faults.

There's coolant all over the bottom of the car: hoses, engine, etc. but no puddles. So I guess it's losing but what does that mean? She's got around 108000 miles on her.

Are you saying that bottom half of the engine bay is wet with coolant. Because if so sounds to me like there's a pin hole somewhere and it's spraying around when it is pressurized by the pump or the heat. If not did you have the head skimmed and what type of gasket was fitted.

I had the engine out of my Td5 a few months ago to do clutch etc . Since putting the engine back I've had a few minor leaks - all caused by those ***** spring type hose clips . Even though I cleaned off the ends of stubs etc a few of them did leak . Nothing major but very annoying and depending on the leak coolant could be spread over a big area due to airflow etc .
I replaced 2 with worm drive clips and had one hell of a job trying to cut off the old spring clips . I need to replace 2 others but due to their location it will be very difficult to cut off the old clip - the only other way is to remove the hose and this will mean losing most of the coolant and having to bleed etc again .
If your engine has those type clips they are worth a close inspection .

I have a 51 Reg disco TD5 and it was doing the same about 3 weeks ago
we found out it was a small hole in the bottom right corner of the radiator
if that is any help to you
