I am going to Langdale Quest next Weds Aug 2nd with a fellow Disco driver for a full day's driving in our own cars (£50 all in).

We are meeting in the car park in the centre of Pickering at 09.30 then driving up to LQ (30 mins).

If anyone fancies joining us please drop me a line, the more the merrier!!!

Langdale is a lovely part of the country. I spent Christmas day a few years back on top of The Pike. Snowing of course :) had the primus going - best Christmas dinner I've ever tasted ;)

I am going to Langdale Quest
It's cheaper to get a years membership for £50 after that it's £25 a go for the full year. Which route are you doing? Unless you're doing the black route I'd spend your money on maps and do a few green lanes, optimum number of vehicles is three any more is a crowd any less could be disaster.

Bloody work! Who invented it anyway?
The bloody whiteman. It's called "progress".

Got myself a copy of memory-map and a GPS but planning a laning trip is very time consuming, particularly since NERC. West Yorks has virtually none left so I guess LQ is the easy option for a day out.

If anyone is planning any laning trips around the area I would love to tag along though.

Hey, come and join YORC (yorkshireoffroadclub.net) and do some trialling. Sunday 13th at Hawksworth is the next one (disused quarry between Harry Ramsdens and Esholt).

Good day out and usually some very testing sections to sort the men from the boys ;)

How did it go then cotey. Did ya bust owt? Will ya be going again? mebbe meet up there later in the year. I like the last two hilly bits meself.

Cracking day, poured with rain which made it much more fun :) Didn't break anything although I had to be careful on some of the sections as there were lots of jagged rocks that needed a spotter to see me through. The hills are good and there was a great distch crossing caused by a deep washout. Nothing really challenging though, might try the more extreme route next time but would need some others to go with recovery gear etc ;)
