I think so yes, if I remember correctly Diesel was about 60p last summer.

So that was good 30p cheaper anyway if I am right in thinknig fuel was about 90p last summer.

Whats Diesel priced at down south at the moment?

Diesel is approaching 99p/litre, unleaded is around 97p/litre. Trouble is it varies quite a bit from week to week. One week it will be up a couple of pence, the next week it will be down again.
I was down in Somerset at the weekend and both diesel and unleaded was over £1/litre.......ouch!!

I'm not paying for fuel anyway, well, not directly at the pumps

thanks fer all yer interest chaps.. fuel is cheaper and when am oot filling me jag today i'll get a price fer essence and gas oil..oophs i mean petrol and diesel.
fur those of you that have misplaced yer 4x4 the center does has some vehickells that you can drive if you feel so inclined. so if you do make a hash of it atleast ming wont be upset at his hippo being dented.
any questions about the french side of it ask me if you want to know about tit ferry then yella dogs yer man.

So Slob, they hire Landys out over there? Any ideas on price? I reckon I'll drive the Mondeo over and use one of their motors. Sweet. Should be a great weekend and good to put faces to names. Can't wait :D

What part of France are you in Slob? Just thinking about turning it into a bit of an expedition afterwards and popping in to see the old dear down in Carcasonne, then stay with Big Sis on the Cote D'Azur for a bit ;)

Nice one Slob :D Look forward to it.

Right then, Newhaven-Dieppe or Portsmouth-Caen/Le Havre would be the Ferry crossing then. Haven't done Newhaven Dieppe for yonks - drive via Le Mans and do part of the circuit. Mulsanne straight used to be great before they put those 3 stupid roundabouts in it...

reet! ah can't remember who was asking about fuel prices but a quick scan in this area reveals that petrol is between 1.20 and 1.40 euros a liter, doossil is about 0.10 to 0.20 cheaper depending where you go. the supermarkets like le clerc ( no not 'the fallen madonna with ze bigga boobies') and syper U are cheapest.
if y'awl want i'll scan the fuel prices up wur we plan to go; tomorrow.

we have had some feedback off the ferry companies and it seems it will be cheaper to go for the week rather than the weekend. if you are interested in that we can arrange a load of other stuff too, like a day green laning or a shopping trip for the wimmin folk and even a day of leisure to do what you like. let us know what you think ;)

Personally I dont mind either way yella.
maybee as its the first Landyzone get together ,so to speak, a weekend would suit some folk more than others,Were coming from Yorkshire,so its a bloody good hike anyhow. a few extra days aint going to make much difference to us,(At least We might get to meet grunt if its a longer stay:D )
what about givin us the price for both and see what folks think?

Dont know about anyone else, but i think most folks would just like to meet up and have a good week/weekend.
But dont go thinkin (on our account0 YOU and slob have to go planning a full weeks entertainment, lets face it, If yer into camping and landrovers
Put me in a field ,somewhere to play and cheap wine,
I'm sorted;)

PS somewhere to wash all the dirt off my hippo would be nice:eek: :D

ok folks, slob has been to the off roading centre today and we have had a lz events comittee meeting. so here is the information about the place you have all been waiting for.

impressive centre within 51 acres of the french countryside with the possibility of an extra 200 acres of forest. its been partly laid out with various levels of difficulty for all to enjoy. we will be one of the first parties to partake in the centre so it should be in pretty good condition.vehicle hire is availible but only if a member of staff is in the vehicle with you (insurance purposes)at a cost of 35E an hour.
if you have kids there is also the chance for them to have a go on a mild off roading course as long as they can reach the pedals in a rangerover.
if you become too stuck foor us lot to pull you out recovery is also at hand.
camping and caravans will be on site with showers and toilets brought in or for an extra fee b&b wil be available nearby with transport provided at the end of the evening. all in all the lay out covers every thing from easy to whoa up there boy!
Also available on site is clay pigeon shooting and pampering for the ladies, including facials and beauty treatment.if we decide to make it a week long trip there will be a day green laning and a day canoeing with other special treats thrown in as well.
A bbq will be laid on for the first night to avoid having to cook and on the final evening a party including a bbq and music along with the prize giving ceremony.
