landrover series 2a

hi i have owned a series 2a since 1971 i have been told that it is possible to fit a disco diesel in the 2a any help and information ie measurments and alignment details would be most welcome many thanks in anticipation of any replies minimec

disco 200 tdi is popular as available cheap and very good engine ,as block is basically same as yours swap your engine mounts remove battery tray to under passenger seat,use series clutch plate disco cover, remove studs on flywheel housing that dont line up ,twist aliminum snail housing on turbo for better pipe work fit ,get tdi exhaust conversion from ebay etc

hi many thanks for reply most interesting i was thinking of the 300 tdi with the 5 speed box would the extra gear increase the cruising speed what cruising speed could i expect from the 200 engine with exsisting box is the 300 engine and gearbox an option? ie propshafts ect minimec

if you put 5spd in you need to alter dirr intransfer box to rwd normal running and 4wd with diff lock or put cv front axle like 109 v8 as well as seta box tunnel etc from defender,remove original cross member ,alter props etc
