Landrover disco 3 prop

Hi,

Hope someone on this forum can help me. I have a disco 3 and the gaiter on the rear prop has split. I replaced the split gaiter with a car cv gaiter, but it didn't last. I have spoken to numerous Landrover dealers and they say you have to buy the whole prop which seems mad as the gaiter can be removed and replaced and the bearing is held in by a circlip.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestion of a gaiter to use?
Don't really want to buy a prop for £400 for the sake of a £10 gaiter

some folk on here have mentioned using universal steering rack gaiters

if you take a look on e bay you will see that some rack gaiter are fairly wide both ends, cut to fit
