We have just purchased our first Landy (an 03 TD5 pickup - formerly a farm vehicle used to round up sheep - with lots of dents, a ton of much underneath, a very dirty interior, but a great chassis, good engine and some sturdy wolf wheels). My son is 14 and has been keen on cars for a while, so this is a third vehicle in the family for him (and me) to learn the basics of mechanics, to do up, and having some fun.
I am sure that we will put lots of posts in the future, but to start with I need some advice on insurance. I have taken out a policy with my current insurer to get us going (LV), but what do I need to do if I go green laning, off-roading, and if my son drives it off the public road (i.e. on private land)?
