You obviously have no idea what your talking about!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually he does know what he is talking about. The book says a TD5 head cannot or should not be skimmed.

Just because you and your wife THINK its worth 2750 doesn't mean it is. It worth what people will pay for it, and as a private sale I think your optimistic.

Whatever... I checked with Land Rover direct and they assured me it could be done and it was...Nine months ago!!
Ask Ratty or Shifty on here. He knows all there is to know bout TD5s.

Also at the end of the day if you dont think its priced right, DONT BUY IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wouldn't trust a word that Ratty says. Only thing he knows owt about is stuffng his fat face.. :boxing:

It's not worth what you or the wife think it is. It's worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.

Best part of 3 grand for your disco seems pretty high. You've shot yourself in the foot by saying that's what you payed when you bought it. Nobody except an idiot will give you what you're asking, now that they know that's what it was worth when it was a year and a half younger.

It's just taken me about sixty seconds to find about seven different discos similarly priced, but younger than yours, on ebay. Don't want to **** on your bonfire, but you're being very optimistic at that money, and there's a HUGE amount of competition in the second hand disco market. Depreciation on a disco is massive you know.

So basically you bought a nail, had to spend a lot of money to fix numerous faults and now trying to flog the piece of **** on before anything else goes wrong with it?

The head is specially hardened and skimming can remove this. My own head is skimmed and has been fine for the 3 years+ since it was done.

Hooray... Finally somebody who knows what they are talking about:cool2:
Thanks mate...Some people on here have nothing better to do than slag other people and there motors off.
Thanks again mate.;)

Enough of this crap. NO one has slagged you or your motor off. They've said that it's overpriced. It is! But you like a spoilt brat have spit your dummy because we're not falling over ourselves to buy it.

If you think it's worth £2.5k. Stick the fooker on autotrader. and sell it. Stop spitting ya dummy. and move on..

As for the head As Ratty said it's hardened and shouldn't be skimmed Luckily he's got way with having his head skimmed. You may have got away with it as well. that still doesn't change the fact that you shouldn't have the head skimmed.
