Well here she is after 3 years laid up apart from the annual mot which it passed every time.
A quick wash 1st in 3 years new rear pads as they were mentioned as low on the last mot, new wiper blades all fluids checked and topped up, tire pressures checked and off I went for a spin this afternoon.
No issues what so ever.

It's on the list but ran out of time, I'm gonna run it over winter have parked the L322 up for now. Will.keep a weekly update on progress as am considering selling the P38.....maybe....not sure......

Evening Ant, nothing so much wrong with it since the rebuild after the chain guide gave out. But will be taking the opportunity to replace the leaking crank shaft oil seal the new 1 decided to leak a tiny bit and also a noisy vanos

Still no issues, iv got a new rear wiper the brushes had completly worn down on the original so that's going on shortly. I'm going to replace all the brakes I think they work fine but original calipers so it's time for new ones. I fitted discs and pads in 2014 when I got the car and just fitted new rear pads. The pistons pushed back OK all the sliders are good. I didn't check the front pistons for ease of movement which I should have done.
Regardless there old and brakes are important.
Watch this space.

Eurocarparts do refurbed Lucas ones at a decent price.

I did look at eurocrap parts, they were more expensive and not lucas.

Brakes all working tho, today had a cold start rattle sounds like 1 or more lifters have gone off and are draining down over night.

Oil and filter change next and Italian tune up

Refurbed ones? Might have had to click other options or something? The ones they gave me are definitely Lucas. Stamped into them, same as the ones that came off!

Had a spare hour this afternoon so fitted the replacment rear wiper motor, all fixed decided to tackle the stone chip with a repair kit it's 98% better I can live with that as its not in my line of site.
Hoping to find time for a proper machine polish and wax next.

No time for much of anything apart from an Italian tune up on my way to visit a mate then a sensible drive back, I did see briefly 22mpg.

In my experience, after owning two P38's, I've found the MPG readout to be significantly over-optimistic. The ONLY way to ACCURATELY determine the ACTUAL fuel consumption, is to brim-brim the fuel your engine greedily burns. Typical mileage returned, over 40,000+ miles, on my 4.6 Thor / LPG-conversion P38 is at best 11 MPG toddling about, 14.4 MPG on a long run. The dash readout may say up to about 30MPG on a long'ish run...when actual is typically 14.4 MPG. when ONLY toddling about, it's ACTUAL MPG has actually been as little as 8MPG. That's when this grown man could be seen crying...

14.4 MPG when cruising is not right even for the V8, mine can quite easily do 23mpg on a run.
Around town yes it does drop but still mine drops only to around 16mpg.
First thing to check would be Lambda sensors and MAF sensor,

Mine had dead lambda sensors and ran mint, although the constant 11mpg got old quick.

That's interesting, Henry. Thanks for your comments. I had BOTH Lambda sensors replaced with brand new ones before last MOT and that appeared to significantly improve the lying green display's output for a while. BUT...it is still a bit better than when on old ones, but my simple OBD2 device keeps saying both banks are almost always either running too rich or, less frequently...running too lean. I cleaned the MAF a few weeks ago when I serviced the LPG fuel system, but I've not looked at the MAF sensor. Presumably it's connected to - or upstream of - the MAF?
