Dunno If it just my uncle being pickie, but since he has had the transmission cooler replaced, he is now complaining of lack of power and the TD5 not wanting to accelerate. Im told the TD5 starts and runs, and Drives fine, but just doest feel the same for some reason...

Please help, Im a mechanic and he is doing my head in...

Im gonna check the Transmission fluid today, just wondering weather anything else could be the matter like fuel starvation....?

Could it be anything to do with the ECU wire coming from the injector rail, I know the oil seal is prone to leaking and fills the ECU with oil...?

Any help will ne much appreciated...

Mike.

Dont know if this helps or not but I suffered power loss on acceleration on my TD5 and the culprit was the hose from the air filter housing to the turbo, it had a slight crack in it, tied it up with a bandage to see if that would make a difference and hey presto, power restored. I've now replaced the hose and am £40 lighter.

MAF sensor could be on the way out or dirty. I cleaned the element on mine with a cotton bud and contact cleaner. This made a big difference to the car. It seems smoother and more keen to rev.

The MAP sensor on the inlet manifold could also be gunged up.

Cheers

Andy
