Hi all,
I'm thinking about buy a Range Rover TDV8 most likely a 2007 with around 135-180k on the clock.
Just looking for some advice are they any good or would i best get a D3? I already have a D2 td5 but was think about having a little bit more luxury .
I'm more than handy with spanners and multi meter and can work my way around a diagnostic machine.
TIA for your words of wisdom.

I've been looking around at L322s recently, the early ones are a lot cheaper and with the 6 speed box so less economical. I might be wrong but i think they are cheap enough to be in trouble territory, ie you pay cheap now but need deep pockets to keep it going. Just a concern, never actually owned one

Hi, I recently sold my sdv6 Rangie on a 62 plate, I got that after seeking advice and was told Jaguar had addressed oilway and crank issues and a few other troublesome parts. Truck was outstanding, the most comfortable and capable thing I've ever owned. However, inlet manifolds that cracked, a fuel housing that failed, an ABS pump with combined ECU that failed, electrical gremlins plus the normal bushes both front and back made it an expensive car to run. About 5k in the last 18 months of ownership. Combine that with my monthly repayments (could not buy it outright) just made the cost too much. The abs module was £1200 for the part alone. Other bits if you are good with spanners are doable.
Thing is, even with that and being forced to get rid of it, I would still buy another and just hope it wasn't a friday car or find one where all that had been done. Mine was the 3.0. so always had crank worries.

I'm not saying either way is right or wrong, but on the plus side, sometimes it's better the devil you know. Many older second hand cars are sold because of a problem
