Just solved my problem after 2 weeks of investigation. I couldn’t find any post with the same issue, so I thought I’d put my problem and fix out there to help anyone else. One morning after no incidents the suspension started to try and go into extended mode. The rear also collapsed onto the bumps. Reviewed for any codes, found nothing. The compressor was running for very long periods and I was initially concerned about a leak. After much searching I spent more time looking at the ride height suspension data. This showed the front 2 level and very high. One back was very negative and the other high. Decided to try changing rear right height sensor which was really negative. This actually fixed the issue. This might only be appropriate fro 2010 to 2012 l322 with continuously adapted suspension and hence the different height sensor with 6 pins. It seems the system had decided the vehicle was effectively stuck on very unlevel ground on the rear with such a wide difference in value and automatically went to extended to try and lift its self off. Don’t need any replies to this but hope it helps someone else.
