test drive one, it will make your p38 feel like poo :p:p:p

You must have driven some bad P38's:p

Unless you go newer on an L322 it will end in tears:D

Look at saint, who has the patience of a saint, has the ability to diy and is Range Rovers biggest fan, but I sense even he is reminiscing about the good ole days of Classics and P38's, when RR ownership was so much simpler:D

More and more faults being reported on the forum about the L322 and the solution never seems as easy as the P38.

Had our latest P38 a year tomorrow, all I've done is put gas in it and changed the oil and filters, no faults or tantrums thrown, quite possibly the most reliable motor I've ever owned, apart from the 2 Classics I've had.

How many L322 owners can say that. Stick with the P38, you know it makes sense;)

It is true I am having a few 'niggles' but I went into L322 ownership in the same way I did when I made the leap from the Classics to the P38's...with my eyes well and trully wide open....

As said, the L322 as it is now getting on in years the faults are starting to become more apparent, but that is just part of RR ownership I am affraid.

We all took a leap into RR ownership, some of us knew what we were letting ourselves in for, others take the plunge and then are shocked at how unreliable these things can be....

FG, you have been lucky, and there are some fantastic examples out there if you are ready to look for them....

My L322 purchase was a bit impulsive admittely, but I had driven a few previously and knew pretty much what I would be letting myself in for....

I am lucky I have a fantastic Girlfriend who understands LR ownership and is prepared to put up with the faults and aslong as I am open and up front with the repair costs and we are sensible about how we manage the 'pot' she is willing to eat beans on toast for a few weeks to save the cash for repairs if a large bill comes in....

Golden Rule with Range Rover ownership.....go in with your eyes wide open.....

Love My L322 - would I go back to the P38, No.....the L322 is a class above,.

and what if the major faults have been fixed by previous owners ?

your going to have a short time of some sort of reliability :)

Came with every bill ever spent on it. Had the blend motors changed at 30K apart from that routine servicing. The first owner having spent the best part of £50K on it then proceeded to cover 2900 miles in three years, it would have been cheaper to employ a chauffeur with his own car. 2nd owner covered a bit more but I was still able to pick up a 10 year old motor with less than 40k miles on it.

The L322's are luvly motors but I'm semi retired these days and can't justify the cost of a TDV8 which I'd have in a heart beat, but the early L322's just seem to be throwing up too many issues for my liking.

and the p38 is not got enough faults ? lol

just as yours has low usage its slowed down the faults from developing :p

we all have our own tastes, if you like the p38 then thats your choice :D

i keep seeing P38 drivers in the essex area drive past me with their L322 conversions... they look in envy as i drive past laughing at them ! :D
