Afternoon all! Am having some problems with a spurious warning light and need some direction/help to find the problem!

Every time I turn the ignition on I get a warning message to do with the front lights but it's not always the same warning. The message is one of these:
Check front light
Check side light
Check fog light

However, all of the lights work fine, I have disconnected all of the wires going into all of the light units, none of the wires are chaffed (that I can see) and the connections seem fine. I have removed the fog lights, removed the side light units...alas everything appears in order.

Aside from that, I'm pretty stumped....any ideas????

Cheers guys, have been out this morning and one of the side lights is flickering slightly. All other lights are fine but one of the side lights is just flickering constantly...could this be the cause even though the light still works?

Also, any idea where too start looking for earthing problems? and where is the light control module?

Remove the flickering light and start by cleaning and sanding the earth terminal and power terminal to that cluster.

Looking at the Schematics, onlt the Front R/H fog light shares the same earth as the main light Cluster above it - C0018-0

Where as the L/H side Main cluster is earthed to C0551-0 and the L/H Fog Lamp is earthed to C0017-0

So if the warning is for Side, Main or Fog in a radom pattern, the only earth that is common to all 3 lamps is the Right Hand side and number C0018-0 (just gotta find out where that earth point is now!!)

Oh and the LCM is mounted on the R/H A pillar behind the kick trim panel....

Interesting post gents

I sometimes (maybe once or twice a month) get the alarm 'check side light' on start up along with the warning beep, but the light is fine. I'm having battery drain issues and one of the fuses being a pig is fuse 27, which I understand is for the BCU. One of you said to countryboy could be a BCU fault

Seeing as though you have a dicky battery voltage problem - best sort that first as your lamp warning message could be related to low battery voltage....

Cheers for the info, I think the earthing point is at the front RHS of engine compartment (according to RAVE) however the picture isn't much help...oh dear..!!

As far as I'm aware (!) I don't have a battery drain issue so I'm hoping there are no BCU faults.

I tried to get to the LCM but can't see an obvious opening/trim access point...any ideas?

I was answering the guy who hijacked the thread....

If you have RAVE it is all in there how to get to it!
