I have a 2003 L322 range rover TD6 and have had and am still having major problems with the air suspension. My question is can I convert it back to coil springs and what will I need for the conversion. Will it affect the road handling with springs. I am fed up of paying out for Air suspension sensors etc etc.

Back to springs? They never had springs. Of course it will affect ride and handling, as it does on the P38, it will also devalue the car and you will need to inform your insurers.
There was a recent post by someone who has done the conversion, he can't get rid of the error messages.
The EAS is generally reliable, if you had your own diagnostics you may save yourself a fortune.

You won't get much help on here about converting to springs. No idea why but it's a bit of taboo. My old shogun handled just as well and was as comfortable on coil springs. If you find any useful information I would appreciate if you sent it my way as I like the idea myself.

The problem is..

Converting the P38 or l322 to springs removes the leveling affect and as such affects the headlights when the car is loaded, or towing..

it also alters the handling to a good degree, P38 is a excellent car on EAS with springs it is no better than a discovery...

No different than if you smash a light unit in you just take it to a garage and get them to set it.
They had a diagram on the wall with it measured out, close the shutters and adjust away.
A beamsetter is used on all cars..

When towing with a "normal" 4x4 you have a dial or switch to adjust the beam to stop you dazzling oncoming traffic.

can't do that with a P38, the EAS does it.

Hey guys I'm still here. Yeah I have converted mine over and to be honest at round town driving it seems fine still can't get rid of the lights on dash so still not mot'd so can't do actual driving yet. Informed insurance and they upped the price by £100 and headlights as someone said just needed to be adjusted down a little. Found an ECU bypass unit that I'm looking into before just buying it and not found a mod to sort out the bmu / ECU like on the P38. Looking into a diagnostic machine so I can clear of my own codes aswell and one to do all my vehicles seems to be the icarsoft pro any one got this and is it any good.

(The reason I changed to springs was a bill of £2500 about 2 years ago and 8 months ago started going wrong again so more money on compressor then 5 months ago another problem then 2 months ago a leaky air bag - enoughs enough)

Thanks Wayne.

I'm the guy there all talking about.
I have changed mine but the conversion kit I got never came with an ECU bypass unit - I think baermech company sell it all together but at a costly price. I found the kit on eBay £400 and found the bypass unit on a company called suncore for about £70.

Not hard to do the job either.

Hope this helps.
Thanks Wayne.
