l322 abs fault codes

Hi,
My abs is showing a fault code 41 (29 hex). I found loads of info on just about every fault but not 41. I have replicated quite a few of the codes in the attached table and so far they are correct but no 41 in the list. I have been using a bmw scanner 1.4 that seems to give code descriptions on all units except the abs! If anyone can help I'd be very grateful.

Whilst the L322 is a BMW in disguise a BMW scanner is not the most appropriate tool for the job.

The L322 shares similar components and layouts as the X5 (E53), the 7'er (E38) and the 5'er (E39) but the way the modules interpret and control the vehicle are different.

It would be prudent to use a LR based code reader to fully interegate the ECU's for the correct information.

The way the L322 uses the Bosch 5.7 ABS/DSC system works is different to the way BMW uses it....although it is the same unit and does the same function!

thanks for your replies, the unit i'm using is called a bmw scanner 1.4 from fleabay.
thanks Saint v8 your right i do expect it will be a code unique to the range rover its just trying to find out what it is! there have been some noticeable discrepancies with the bmw diagnostic but on the whole it is pretty good, most of the live data and forced outputs are correct , having said that i will be getting an all comms i think. Do you know if i can get a fault code list for units other than the standard obd2 ?

Hi,
Just an update, Found a full fault code list and 41 was a 'steering angle sensor error' the steering wheel has had a tilt for about 2 years so didn't suspect it, last night I aligned the front wheels and steering wheel to dead centre and that was it job done.

How did you align them correctly ?
 
centred the steering wheel and and adjusted the front track rods using a pair of laser alignment jigs, not an exact 4 wheel alignment but close enough. the tracking was ok to start with so could have just matched the No of adjusting turns on each side I suppose.
 
To reset the SaS, you have to start in the centre - turn full lock left and hold for a couple of seconds, then full lock right and hold, then back to the centre - this has to be done eachtime the battery is disconnected.

On fitment of a new SaS, it has to be coded to the ABS ECU which requires diagnostics!

Never heard of an SaS reset by just adjusting the mechanical track rods and etc!!
 
It would not reset at all, I read that it has a maximum offset of 10 degrees. mine may have been more than that. I can't say for definite cos i didn't measure it but re centring it has definitely worked!!
