Hi All,

Well its been a while, and I hate to just come back on here and start with a problem but I'm at a loss! So I made the change, sold my most recent 2001 P38 and purchased a 2003 L322 4.4 vogue, and I've never looked back! Well untill today! I asked my mate to start the car, just as he did and the car started to fire up he turned the key back and turned it off. I thought nothing more untill I tried to start it again and now she just turns over, and over, and over... Well you get the picture... Anyone had this before or know what I can do?

Thanks guys!

Thanks guys!

lock it, walk away, then walk back and start again.
In other words try cycling the immobiliser/alarm system

Agree with SaintV8. Fuel pump, fuel pump relay or rear fusebox. they have a habit of burning the vontacts out of the board where the fuel pump relay sits. Sometimes a wiggle of the relay will get them started again.

Wow! everyone got fast at replying! I know its been a year but still! Im going to try all the above first thing tomorrow.

As luck would have it i only thought about ordering the update for my hawkeye this morning but was put off when i was told by the guy at DLS that i would need yet ANOTHER lead! Seriously... i understand about the price of the codes, and agree we should have to pay for them, but another cable... come on give me a break!

I'll let you know how i get on

Right so the plot thickens, I have recieved my hawkeye code and collected my new lead... After checking the fuel pump and everything is fine ive discovered a fault code on the engine... EWS MANIPULATION CHECK. I can find nothing on rave or one the web for land rovers, however the BMW E46 seems to suffer with the same problem.. From what i can see the car seems to have a security code missmatch on one or more of the ecu's.. anyone ever had this?

That will be why it won't start then. Don't know if the Hawkeye does it but it's a simialir situation to the BECM losing sync with the engine ecu. Is there any codes in the immobilisor ecu?

Hi wiganerdan, no the hawkeye won't let me in that far, my pal came round with a snapon unit this morning. It looks like this gearbox ecu is the culprit, although this won't change the pin either. I'm going to take it over to an independent LR specialist tomorrow if I can get it picked up, or look for someone with Rovacom local to me mobile in notts
