Hey guys, got a persistant clunking noise thats driving me bonkers. It appears to be coming from the drivers side front footwell. The CV gaiter is split and has been awaiting replacement for a couple of months now so was wondering if it was the cv joint that's worn out due to having no grease. Failing that, i was wondering if it might be the wishbone ball joint as it seems to buzz/knock when driving in a straight line down the motorway as well.

Symptoms are that when entering a roundabout a little to enthusiastically it'll knock/buzz when going round or pulling off the roundabout. It knocks/buzzes if i pull away in too low of a gear without enough revs. Dropping down a gear with too high revs causes a knock. Driving down the motorway at 65mph is fine but at between 70-80mph it knocks and thumps over any slight bump in the road. Sometimes just pulling away normally causes the knocks/buzzing. It also seems to be harder to make knock when the engine is cold, but after driving 5-10 miles and having it knock a couple of times it'll knock literally everytime i pull away unless i'm super careful pulling away.

Lower engine tie bar/bushes worth a check as well as the CVJ.

Lower tie bar has had a polybush fitted. Oddly the knocking started after i'd fitted the polybush. Didn't knock before i fitted it.

Cv joint has got to be favourite if the grease is plastered all around hub and inside of wheel

Its the inner one, so it's splattered all round the pulleys/engine bay. Do i need to replace the whole driveshaft for the inner one?

Far enough, just recheck that those tie bar bolts are tightened correctly.
