Evening all,
I spotted a S1 V8 recently that had been converted to a kind of "king cab" arrangement by using 88 side panels and roof. leaving about 2ft of open "pick up" at the back... And this has got me thinking about a similar conversion for my 110...
Wondered if anyone has already done this?

khaos "A guy stopped me in a car park today with a 110 with a 90 body on it! It looked ace!"

Thats exactly the route I was thinking.. but before I start buying bits I wanted to check to see if it had been done.. and also get a few measurements.

On that note.. anyone got a 90 they can measure up? Main question is how long are the side panels from the door to the back?

Don't they call it a 110 double cab?:boink::boink:

saw the exact thing on ebay a while ago, i was guna buy it but it had no engine and a rotten chassis. double cab thing looked class tho!

It's not strickly a double cab as it's not got the 4 doors.. just the 2 front doors and 1 door in from the flatbed to give access to the rear seats (just as if it were still a hardtop).

If anyone spots any piccies of one thats been done I'd appreciate links.

For now I'm content stripping the front end of the 110 apart (wings/bonnet/windscreen off) to get at the bulkhead rot and sort it out... But once it's all solid (and painted nato green) I'll be seriosuly contemplating the conversion.. Or.. if I happen to spot some cheap 90 panels.

Like that?
I will try to find a better one;)

Just the ticket.. is it/was it yours?

If so.. are the roof/panels std 90 stuff or specially shortened ones?

Not mine but I found it on the net.
Ill bet the front of the roof above the screen will fit to the 110 as I imagine there is very little difference between the two.
And you may well have the same roof mount on the front of the tub, behind the front seat.
So I imagine you will have to fashion a roof mount in the middle of the 110's tub to fit a 90 hard top onto the back of yer 110.
In my mind it seems easy.
Dunno what you would do with the rest.
You will have to sort out the door hole
Sure its possible..try it:D

would the rear pannels off a 4 door station wagon 110 be slighlty shorter than the 90s so youd have more 'pickup' space with enought space in the cab for a row of seats ? not sure what the sizes are or if there different sizes

Kawak "would the rear pannels off a 4 door station wagon 110 be slighlty shorter than the 90s"

Good thought.. I'd measured a 90 today and figured they were a little long for what I had in mind. Okay.. anybody got a CSW and fancy measuring the lenth of the rear panels for me?

From what I saw of the lad's who I saw you can just stick a 90 body on. You would need to make something on each wheel arc for the body to sit on though because there will be about a 10 inch gap at the bottom where the roof would have sat on the rim of the tub at the back. Other than that I think the door in the bed may have been cut down a bit.

Linky no worky:(

Bugger! sorry about that, I didn't realise that section of the forum is only viewable by members.

My apologies for wasting your time. :(

Basically it's a bloke that is currently building one.... has a few pictures of the build up and apparently he'll be putting a lot more pictures up later this week.

If you right click on the pictures, select view image then copy and paste the addy from the address bar you might be able to post a link to them here as long as they are not stored on that forum - anywhere else (photopail, youbucket etc.,) should work.
