As you can see it is going to be a major restoration to get it running. It was parked up a few years ago when the "Fuel Tank dropped!"
Since then it has been shifted around a bit but as you can see the ravages of time and lack of tender abouse have paid their toll.
THEN I can start stripping the S3, oooh baby looking forward to it.
I will probably create a build thread to follow its slow reincarnation.
Cheers Turboman.
Fortunatly we actually know a lot of its history, it has been owned first by one (a keen LR man) then another of the wifes good Scouting friends.
So they both know that it will be going to a new home that will bring it back to life rather than break it.
That said, I was considering using the chassis as a steep re-learning curve in welding, but after putting my finger through the top of the rail between the tank and hand brake mounting I suspect I may be buying a full new chassis.
One of the big questions is whether I rebuild the 2.25 petrol and put it back in, or whether I squeeze the good 200 TDi in that is currently sitting on the bgarage floor beside the 80".
Its always good to have a spare engine lying around
That said does anyone want an LT77 and tranhsfer box from a D1?
