Hi Chaps Im back, any body got any ideas on this?
2000d2 auto when using kick down the engine dies out and idles if it is running on 2/3 cylinders. If I switch off and on again it runs quite well till I kick down again. I have changed air filter/air flow/the thing with 3 pipes(cant recall name)fuel filter/fuel pressure reg. turbo seems to be working (no play). Im at a loss now, please come up with some ideas. apart from a box of matches:lol: thanks in advance.

do you still have EGR?...if yes, check the valve cos it might be full of muck or blocked...if no EGR, u must check the fuel pressure with a gauge instead of the fuel temp sensor in the FPR...u must be certain that you have 4 bar there cos it's possible that the pump doesnt deliver enough(how does the pump sound after ignition?)

some live data would be usefull

no egr, the pump runs for a few seconds and then goes quiet. would pressure show on diagnostic

you can test the pressure only with a gauge and the easyest way for me looks to put a gauge instead of the fuel temp. sensor(which is screwed in the FPR) ... get a faulty FT sensor(or coolant temp. sensor cos they're the same) drill out it's internals and addapt it to the gauge's hose the screw it in the FPR(unless the gauge has an "addaptive" end)... leave the FT sensor attached to it's plug and the ECU will "assume" that it's a cold start...even if you disconnect it is no problem cos the ECU runs on default values if this sensor is gone.
