The shoulder was in the wrong place, and the grooves weren't the correct depth or something. And the top of the blank looked like it had been hacked off, it wasn't the right shape for the old key

Well if I put the two side by side in person, even I could see there were differences between the two!

oh bugger! and I was looking forward to having a single unit and a less tighter pocket :/

The shoulder on the one i got was differant allthough i dont see why they couldnt mill that bit off tbh

I finally got around to having the blank cut, cost me £20!! at Timpsons. The new key works fine, I've now fitted the transponder and the alarm remote. I glued the corners with superglue and in traditional style all was going well until the last corner when the superglue decided it wanted to come out faster and try stick my fingers to the remote.

I have just seen another one for sale on e-bay and have asked a question as to will the blade be the correct one for Freelander 1,Don't know when I will get reply. Item number 321151843027 just copy and paste into e-bay.

And you said it was ok? I think there really are 2 keys as Alexcarter bought one off this seller it was shorter, I bought one off another seller called 07506781504 and it was shorter too

The blank I received was longer than my key, which looked the same as the pics on the eBay ad

he told me he only has one size, i think there really must be more than one size
