Hi Guys,

p38 4.6 v8 Thor Engine

Over a year ago I sent the BECM away to be repaired. It came back fine and I have had no problems for over a year. We took the car out for a drive and on returning the car would not lock using the button on the key fob, so I locked it manually using the key in the door. Didn't think too much of it.

The next day, now it will only lock the drivers door manually using the key and the central locking does not work. It has now gone to 'lock out'. I have tried entering the EKA code, but not sure if this is the right one as the BECM was repaired last year?! I have checked all the fuses and they are all ok.

HELP!

Thanks in advance.

Firstly, how's your battery / alternator? These cars don't like low or fluctuating voltage.
Unless wherever you sent your BECM have been very naughty then there's no reason to play with the EKA code. To check on this you need to speak to Rick-the-Pick, he's the top BECM man, possibly in the country.
Meanwhile you need to get this plugged into some good diagnostics.

The battery and the alternator are working perfectly. It was Rick-the-Pick I sent it to, so I phoned him. I looked at when I sent it away and it was Nov 2012. He was very helpful on the phone. Waited for the key code lock out message and the hazard lights to stop and tried the EKA code. He said that it would be the original EKA code but still no luck... As the central locking was playing up before all this happened do you think it could be the RF receiver?

Was supposed to be using it as a wedding car next Saturday - just typical!

where abouts are you, it may be that the drivers lock is starting to play up so won't read the eka code you are trying to input..

I am in Somerset. The drivers door is the only one that will lock manually - not sure what this means exactly?!

you need a working drivers door switch. the eka code is read via the door switch. if tis not working correctly then no amount of twisting the key will work as the becm won't know anything about it.
too far for me to help, but if all else fails then a plug in the checkover.
