Ive just taken delivery of my new toy, a 1976 series 3. Its had a bit of work done to it and i can see that it has had a kenlowe fan fitted. Ive never had one before and im not sure what i should do with it, if anything. It seems to have settings so want to make sure its right. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Ive attached a pic of it.

hopefully heres the pic

Basically what is in your picture is a thermostatic switch N is normal C is cold H is hot previous owner has it set between cold and normal.
What temperature does it show on the dash gauge. This time of year ordinary driving in the UK I would not expect the fan to be running. Mine has a thermoistatic switch set to operate at 89 degrees and does come on when driving it hard 200di under bonnet so cooling water thermostat 88 degrees yours will either be 74 or 82 degrees.
If engine at N temp on gauge and fan stays off that's fine if it comes on before gauge reaches red line then adjust a little higher.
