Hi Johnty and welcome.

First of all there is no positive benefit in fitting a K&N filter to a std TDi 300 as you need to modify the fuelling and inter-cooler to benefit from any extra airflow.

The downside of K&N filters is that they can "leak" their oil onto the MAF and muck it up.

It will make the induction noise slightly louder but amongst all the other banging and crashing of a TDi it will be hardly noticeable.

I would not bother yourself with a K 'n' N. if you want it louder then a panel filter is not going to do that On it's own.

Thanks for the reply fellas, the K&N filter was already on when I bought her and runs fine so maybe i'll leave it on.Read about an EGR blanking plate, anyone advise on this??

Cheers...Johnty.

Check to see if its blanked off already. Ive seen a few people want to de-egr it and it has already been blanked but the pipe left on. If it hasnt been done, its quick, simple and pretty effective.

Well check that the filter is clean as they tend to get clogged up. As for removing the EGR it is good and easy to do, but to get the most out of it you will need to clean out the inlet manifold, I recommend removing the egr completely and replacing the top turbo pipe with one off a defender for about £10 or if you feel flush a samico silicon one. Removing the EGR and cleaning the crap out will give you a noticeable change in grunt.

Hi Johnty, if you are wanting to get the car running more efficiently, then the single most cost effective mod you can do is to replace your current catted exhaust downpipe for a De-Cat one from the likes of Paddocks for about £15+vat.

Takes about 30-45mins to do and you will a get more responsive engine and better mpg.

That's pretty dam crap think ether you floor it a lot or you puting to much fuel in after the mods have you had it dyno tested to make sure the fueling is correct

Fair 1, same thing happend to me until I chipped it pain in the ass thought as you have to send the EDC ecu away to get it done. After that it gets about 35 mpg unless I boot it then that drops to about 15 to 19 mpg.

From challenger 4x4 in aldershot but they send it off to someone elese and it cost £450.
