yes but everyone can Doom!!! You havent mellowed have you sean! Be positive it might just be a good buy!!!

it would appear you are also rather adept at doom - stop looking for something to argue about, I am off the same opinion as you are

''Looks ****e at the moment but....... and a big but if the cage is up to spec''

hard to see but the cage mounting seems to be on 3mm or 6mm pads. AWDC are not too strict well not as strict as the association of rover clubs. You cant play there unless you reinstate the rear xmember and make it look more like an LR so its probably your best bet if you wish to use it. Other than than a cheap playday hack if your so inclined. cant really lose tbh.

Doom me Never! I'm mr positive!!! I have a lr to build and its taking lots of time and its ****ing down out there if I was a doom type person I'd have given up completly!

Argue, Debate dear sir!

I like it........................... it could be a goodun. check the specs and get it looked at If you get the trialling bug you won't go back.

You know what.....if you take off the ****e body, the seats and the roll cage....yer left with a series chassis that's got a rangie V8 manual and a salisbury rear axle.

wots wrong with that?

even got a salisbury rear end so you won't be twanging rear shafts with the v8 up front front might need nursing a wee bit tho

Wow... this thread got busy... thanks for the advice guys :)

Seriously thinking about tidying this thing up and entering the comp safari now. Always been toying with the idea.

I can confirm the cage does meet the specs... Apparently this land rover was used in competition, sold to a new owner who has put the V8 in and never finished it.

Had a good poke around it and it seems solid. Cage is in great shape, chassis has minimal rust, tyres are excellent.

The engine is probably shagged though... it's been left open to the elements for god knows how long. Unless anyone can offer some advice on if it's possible to bring it back.

Sounds like we need to eat our words and offer you hope that it is as good as you think .. nice one! ;)

be even better if you can get the engine going nicely!

Perfect!! Lots of IFs aye!!

Right be wary because the regs do change I suggest you go to your
Local landrover club join and ask the scruteneer to come and check what needs doing I re log book your cage it's likely it may need a few bits but don't let that put you off! If you see them with a drill putting a hole in the cage don't panic it's part of log booking the cage.

Alrc regs and awdc regs are different if aim for Alrc that way you can take part in all comps good luck!!

Engine find a good runner or strip and rebuild as new it will be by far the not reliable way
