Hi

my 96 300tdi 90 has decided that I need a challenge

When parked up for a while (24 hours) it won't start first time, or second or third unless I rev the engine when I turn the key.

It's quite happy afterwards (well untile the next day)

Thanks

Check the injector leak-off pipes .. small material covered pipes looping from one injector to the next, with a stop on the last injector. As they get older they lose suppleness and become brittle, cracking at the ends and letting air in thus making it hard to start .. ;)

You can either go to landrover and buy the actual pipes for about £20 or you can pop down to your motor factors and buy a meter of it for a couple of pounds and then chop off the lengths you need from that.;)

Nice one!.

I did what Ratty said, got 3m for £5!! ... you only need about 0.5m ... :)

Brill thanks! what do I need to ask for when I drop into the motor factors?

Braided or rubber fuel hose for injector leak off pipes. If you are taking your landy down to the motor factors then just tell em it's outside and ask em to have a look to get the right size. If you are taking another car then take one of the originals with you. They are just push fit so will easily pull off.
