went there expecting a hatchback as my courtesy car, but no they go even worse, 07 plate freelander :)
i know its wrong to say, but its so much nicer to drive(on the road anyway) then the depender :(
at least its only temporary :)

well if you need a like for like vehicle, they should give you one. and your gaylander does need to go through a ford and offroad doesn't it :D give us a good (off)road test!

Interesting that the Freelander is the one running & the Pretender is the one in the garage. Oh & don't bother with the it's newer waffle, we've heard it all before. I'll soon have you all coverted to the ways of the Freelander.

Go on tell us that tomorrow when the doors have fallen off and the gasket has blown :D

interestingly, the defender aint broken down. i had a polo go into the back of me at about 20-30 mph, i have a few small dents and a broken reversing light. and the front right of the polo was caved in, id like to see the freelander do the same :)

hey Crome - when yu gonna come with us to Salisbury so we can learn what a Hippoo can really do?

Yeah ok I'll concede that one, but to be fair I bought mine for on road slippy rural roads in winter & it's brilliant for that. Think though if I really needed to go off road I'd get an old tractor. Anyhoo, I can see that that I'm not going to easily convince you lot but cars like Freelanders are the future. Soon we'll all be pottering about in 1.5 litre diesels or hybrids etc. Oh & to the head gasket guy, I didn't think TD4s suffered this any worse than any other machine, a bit like saying all Discovery 1s have poor engines because the 2.0l MPi wasn't the most reliable motor or a tiny number of 300TDi models had timing belt problems blah blah blah. Toodles.

I know to be fair the TD4 gaylander does seem to be well engined. I only said head gasket and doors falling off to generalise gaylanders, it was a joke more than anything

ive seen a 60 year old landy show me a gaylander in 60 years and ill be convinced the landy had one owner as well
and a discos only a step up from the gaylander
you know you all want a tracter:D

Anythings possible, but your right, they don't build them like they used to. A 60 year old Landy would make a great second car, but my Freelander is my main car. Also isn't the Morris Minor near the 60 years old & that was a rust prone design, but many were built, loved & treasured which is why they survive. More likely, we'll not be allowed to run early Freelanders in 50 years time due to all this crappy emission bull.
