Thats what I tell my parents, its the same price for even a small crappy car so I might as well have V8 Land Rover! :D

Mine is £700 a year with 6 years no claims 27 years old, but my mate said about trying to get it insured on classic insurance as it is over 15 years old now, so will try that next as £700 is a lot i think as I only pay £460 for my 2.0 ltr coupe car.

Insurance was up last week for me.
Fully comp, 300tdi, 5000 miles per year, alarmed, garaged, used as second car, 26 years, 0 NCB.
Admiral renewal £947!! Up over £400 on last year!

Found a company called Lancaster, matched cover and gave me green lane cover for £220.02 fully comp.

Insurance is mad.

I've been with the NFU for quite a few years now, if you're not too old and not too young they do a good deal. They've just given me a quote for a 2003 Discovery, fully comp with european recovery £177. I daresay if you live in or near a city it would be a lot more, even if the they offer a quote thats too high they will reduce it rather than lose business.
