Just how fast?!

Hi all!

I was on the motorway today at about 60ish and a 2011 defender shot past! He must have been doing 80 or 90. Is this standard for a new fender?

No.

new ones are "limited" to 88 i believe. Its prob got a bluefin chip on it.

My 110 Puma will sit at 80 comfortably all day long.
They're limited to 85 though.
And the fuel consumption at that speed is scary.

Musta been a V8

Possibly, didn't kno they still made v8 defenders!?

They'll make you anything if you pay for it.

ahh well i never.. so they could make a tdv8 from a rangie defender? i wish i had some money! haha

I guess that would come from the Special Vehicles department. Those TDV8s don't half shift. My ex used to have one until she swapped it for a new Vogue.

My 110 accidently made its way up to 90 when I was playing catch up with Boomer last time I went laning around Basingstoke. I was shocked at how easily it got to that speed.

My 90 has done 85 without even trying. I've never tried to max it out though.

I thought you had a full quota? I'd like to but had best not. I have to take the ballasts mum to hospital at 7am on the monday and will need the landy fit and healthy for the following 3 months until she's recovered. I'll have to run in and out at regular intervals to look after both mother-in-law and the dog.

I' ll try and persuade the ballast that it's a good idea and the boss that he really needs to give me more time off but I have a nasty feeling like the world is gonna conspire against me.

My landy would not go 80 or 90 if you dropped it from the top of the empire state building. It is against its religion to break 60 but in 1985 that was FAST!

Its ok getting to those speeds lol, as long as you have the brakes to stop!, or an anchor ready to chuck oot the back door.

A1 yesterday near Doncaster. white R reg 110 TDI (I am guessing a 300) doing 80 easily...i even counted 16 seconds from stand still in traffic to 80!
I am bloody jealous now..am wondering if I should have gone for a 300 rather than my 93 200tdi

my 200 tdi disco will do 80 all day on road tyres, I just don't do it now coz of the amount of fuel it uses at that speed.

forget it I just realised your in a 110, different gearing in them :doh:
