Hi Skippy

Been offline for a while, far too busy at the moment, apologies. Also not received any emails through this site, Irishrover has emailed me through the Blackbox Forums, which has got through. I have emailed you directly.

Thanks
Andy

i recieved it mate, dont suppose you know when you could look at it, i think he said it needs a code re sync, i got a recovery truck so can get to you when ever

Test Book would not block it and could be used without any problem EXCEPT..at the end of the session it would relock the BECM automatically. This means that if the BECM goes into alarmed status again, instead of a reset which can be cleared by the ordinary BECM software module which most P38 Rovacom owners have and can be done in 10minutes with the unit still in the car, the unit will have to be removed again and unlocked electronically to clear the faults as you have just had done. Also if an error is made to the security data, this cannot be amended once the unit is locked....whereas now it can be.

so its best to wait for rovacom then init, andy.r cant do anything till monday so ill prob wait till then but if i can get it done before i will, its killing me in taxis to work

took it to someone to ode re-sync and they are getting nothing from ecu, they can read becm though, they are checking few things, if there is anything you lot can tell me that will help them, also the green bit around the key dont light up

The green ring around the switch shares the same plug as they key transponder, that's why I asked the question. The transponder needs to be plugged in and working as it is an important part of the security system.
If the engine control relay is being energised by the engine ecu, that proves that the security link is ok and the engine ecu is giving the green light to go

The bulb may be blown in the light ring which in itself is insignificant. Around the top of the ignition switch is a small black plastic box with a PCB inside and a lead coming out to the white plug that is shared by the light ring.
Really you need to ensure that the becm and engine ecu are talking to each other and the engine ecu is powering up and energising the engine control relays. If you are getting the "Go" signal from the engine ecu, the problem lies with the engine electrics and not the ecu/becm. This can be checked by actuation of the engine control relays when the ignition is switched on. If the relay(s) are not being energised then either there is a wiring fault or an ecu fault. Determination of this can only be done by checking that an output is present at the actual pinout on the engine ecu.
