speak to irish, hes knows his stuff and he'll put ya right

I have also sent a mail to Andy explaining the problem.
One thing I have noticed on your BECM is that the EMS code is 2890. On the majority of BECM's this is 65535. I did not change it in view of the possibility of introducing further problems.
The BECM is unlocked and anyone with SM022 (Becm module) can edit the data.
I feel sure that a reteach is the way to go...so come on you Rovacom owners in the UK give the guy a dig out.

:tea:

might not sound alot to people with money but what i spent so far
1, car £2500
2, glow plug relay £80
3, fuse box £132
4, battery £90
5, glow plugs £40
6, diesel pump solinoid £85
7, becm repaired £120 (with postages)
8, my local rogers of bedford £250 (they were usless)
9, service parts £100
total £Too much
thats in 3 weeks i only had car on rd for few days

When the car was in the garage, did it have any work done around the ignition switch area?
Could be that the transponder fitted to the ignition switch that detects the presence of the key is either disconnected or faulty..though usually they give little trouble.
This tells the engine ecu to ask for the EMS code from the BECM.
I'm certain it's something small & niggly that is the problem...don't despair!!!

Kooky..a becm is usually locked by default so that security and I.D. information is not wiped by mistake, another "Sinister" reason is that if a becm becomes "Alarmed", Dealers Testbook cannot unlock it and clear the alarmed status..result..new becm at around £800,programmed by Test Book and automatically locked ready for the next time.

Skippy..have got a second opinion from Rovacom..double check that all the plugs are soundly connected to the becm. They also confirm that the Engine ECU code needs to be read and compared with the EMS code stored in the becm. The engine code can't be changed..the one in the becm can.
Another reason why a becm is better unlocked!!
