Hi guys.

Just bought myself a P38 (today). Got me a 4.6 Vogue, 2000 registration. Running LPG system, so not too bad on fuel costs.

Anyway, just thought I'd come join here as I've never had a 4x4 before. Been mostly into VW's and Audi's the last few years, mostly GTI's and TDI's. But recently fell out of love with my last A4 Quattro due to poor fuel consumption (37 mpg out of a 2.0 TDI), and bought a BMW 335d. Weapon car (as fast, if not faster, than my 4.2 V8 S4). That'll be no use come the winter though. So thought, to hell with it, treat myself, and buy a Range Rover.

Here are some pics:

Apart from tinting the windows, I'm planning on doing nothing but fix it and run it. However, if there are any "must do" modifications, I am open to ideas.

For example, how easy would it be to change the head unit? Would quite like to be able to play off a USB stick / Ipod. This shouldn't affect my satnav? Not that its worth keeping right enough. Or how would this affect my HK sound system? Or is there a way to ditch the cd changer, and install a USB / Ipod adaptor?

Ha ha ha. Yes I did. It was a 2012 A4 2.0 TDI Quattro Black Edition:

Lovely looking car. But book states combined consumption of 53 mpg. About 6-7 up on my previous 2009 2.0 TDI A4 Avant. I was expecting an increase in economy, and instead lost 5 mpg. I was very ****ed off at this, so swapped it for the 335d BMW:

This car gets the same economy, admittedly, but with 340 BHP after the remap, and the same 37 mpg, it was a no brainer. Especially compared to the 177 BHP of the Audi.

However, my other car was an Audi S4 4.2 V8. This was my fun car:

Clearly this is a car bought without economy in mind. Anyway, I sold this, and as I now have a 10 week old baby, thought I would buy something that will be safe for her to be in all year round. The RWD BMW just aint gonna cut it in the winter. Plus, if I can't get to the airport to get to work, I don't get paid, so 4x4 it was.

Anyway, with the LPG conversion, fuel costs wont be too bad. The keeping it on the road costs are likely to be horrendous though...

Okay, so the cruise control doesn't seem to be working. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

Well, as promised, finally got some interior pics. Got a new phone, so hopefully these are a little better:

Sat Nav is pretty basic, but 2012 maps:

If you want to play around with you HK system then CLARKY130 on here is the guru.

If you're expecting to be driving in snow I'd think of changing those drug-dealer rims and get yourself some decent tyres (or buy another set for winter). General Grabbers seem favourite in snow.

Yeah, have already been looking for more winter friendly rims. These 20's are nice, but a bit bling for my purposes. Thinking 18's would be better. What are the specs on RR wheels? PCD, ET etc...

And already PM'd Clarky about his harnesses / adaptors.

I did a bit of research. I know that the initial purchase price was going to be nowhere near what the car will cost me.

And its not like I'm overly bothered about cruise control really, although it would be nice to have it working. If I can fix it myself for cheap enough. Otherwise, so long as it isn't going to cause other problems with it broken, I may leave it.

What is this RAVE I have been hearing about? EDIT: No worries, found it and downloading it just now.

Now with added pimp.

The wife will now be able to breast feed in the back without being on display...
