Hi peeps new to this site and the RR scene have owned 4 landcrushers in the past
cannot believe how much fuel it has used. I knew it would be thirsty but you can actually use the fuel gauge as a speedo lol
It does unfortunately have a few RR issues
eas warning is on, as are the christmas tree lights and max suspension height warning.
some one has just fitted new suspension air bags and converted it to air valves
I shall be attempting to fix the air suspension wish me luck
It was very cheap fortunately

it uses a tad more fuel than my toyota poous
it also came with 4 moths road tax
who ever fitted the air valve eas by pass is hopeless, nice looking valve but the pipes leak when you move them or drive it
I suppose the only answer for fuel costs is lpg or sell it when the tax runs out
road tax for the poous was £10 p/a last year but it's not good off road lol
just waiting for the eas lead to arrive from the bay before I commence the eas investigation

yes but the fuel cosumption will increase on the prius now, having to tow the p38 home everytime it breaks down

here's the fault list so far
eas warning on
drivers window only goes 3 quarters of the way up
n/s/rear door doesn't lock
air valve conversion leaks at the valves where they push on the pipes
doesn't tick over from cold rpm surges and stalls alot
when hot the rpm is too high
handles like a boat it is better round a corner than it is in a straight line it just doesn't do straight lol
split heater doesn't work,it's either hot or cold both sides
drivers door doesn't always shut properly
viscous fan is no longer viscous one would have thought with the amount of air it is now shifting it might propel the vehicle along like an aeroplane propeller
the v8 sounds lovely shame it is so gutless, my 2.4 duratorque jumbo transit is faster laden
the only thing it seems to be good at is using petrol
british workmanship at it's finest
this RR is not a patch on the land crushers I used to have
can't believe they have no diff locks
my 1996 diesel land crusher had 3 diff locks
my 97 had 3 my 1998 new shape one had centre and rear diff locks
no doubt my list of faults will increase over this next week

The only help I need is psychological for buying the thing in the first place lol
I have already had a good read of the RR section and the helpful links before I bought it
I am actually quite happy with the purchase and pleasantly surprised by the small list of faults it currently has
I am quite capable in the mechanical, electrical and electronic fixing department
I shall be popping it in the workshops next week when I have a moment and assessing the rest of it

is that all sounds like you got a gd one then:D

It had just had new air bags fitted by the previous owner but an air valve kit had been fitted
so suspension fault was the usual. Air leaks being ignored causing the compressor to over work
fix was new piston seal and repair of thermal cut out and eas reset
need to test now for any slight air leaks and rectify if necessary.
The rebooting of an empty system is perhaps where some people get carried away with system overhauls or disheartened and sell it or miss diagnosed valve block faults
so to sum up total cost of repair £75 I have not billed myself for labour yet though LOL
If it had been a customers car I would have just supplied and fitted a new pump
Alot of the time I spent was in learning how the system works
Diagnosis is often the biggest part of bills on vehicles,e.g. 5 hours to diagnose 20 minutes to actually fix it
