Just bought a 90

I've just bought my wife a mint 300 Tdi 90 pick up (soon to be a CSW) and I have to say it's not until you've driven one of these that you truly appreciate the luxury and comfort of a Disco 2 Td5 lol.

And the photos are where exactly?

They'll follow shortly. Got to be honest, these are beasts. I need a bloody ladder to get in it.

I'll take them tomorrow in daylight (provided it hasn't been stolen overnight lol). It's all primered ready for paint or wrap (whichever is more economical as this cleared my account out completely) and has had so many upgrades it's unreal. So far it's had :-

TD5 front and rear axles with new seals bearings and oil
New drilled and grooved discs and pads
All new yellow polly bushes all round
New shocks all round
New track rod ends
New brake pipes
New crossmember
Heavy duty bumper on the rear
Rocksliders
Dixon bate tow hitch
TD5 wings with chequer plates (not a fan of chequer plate so that's going)
Puma bonnet
Rubber A frame on the front (that's going too)
Heavy duty springs
Anti roll bars fitted
Boost alloy wheels
TD5 bulkhead
Defender R380 gearbox
Heated front windscreen
New seat trim kit in techno
Heated seats
Cubby box
TD5 dashboard
Bulkhead sound deadening
New starter motor
New alternator
Recon turbo
New water pump
Recon Discovery transfer box

Sounds good! If you haven't already, get yourself some decent security, physical and electrical.
Give the wing-top chequer a chance - it comes in very useful when you're tinkering in the engine bay!

Yup it was the one on eBay and fair play his write up didn't do it justice. It's parked in my garage now with my Disco and my sons little wind up Citroen C1 in front of it so it's safe for now. My mate (who's also my mechanic) is fitting a new steering wheel to it that can be taken off every night and other mods that will ensure it's difficult to steal. He mentioned a few things about cut offs and whatnot which I am clueless about and he's had 90's for years and hasn't lost one yet despite a few break ins so he's pretty good in that respect.

I bought my wife a superb 300tdi CSW in January.
It's never been welded and the crossmember is perfect. The body is unmarked with no oxidisation or scabs.
But you are right about these, they are agricultural after a TD5 (l have also got a 2005 110 CSW)
The TD5 was a big advance in loads of areas, you need to own both to realise how much.

Mint was the right word! Looks sweet as a nut mate!

It's beautiful, the lad did so much work to it I can't believe he's sold it. I believe he said he's done 20 odd miles in it in 2 years for MOT's etc. The wife is happy as a pig in the proverbial so that means I get some peace and quiet. Major brownie points here.

It's a 1987 and it has been extremely well taken care of with only 98k on the clock.

I've come close to buying a few for the wife but something has always held me back. The wife has been a little upset a few times for me pulling out of a deal to buy a 90 but something always said hang on. Now I believe everything in life happens for a reason and we're glad to join the 90 club. Now, if only I can find a 110 in the same kind of nick i'll be well sorted.

That is an amazing price for a beautiful example of a 90!! I know what you mean about something holding you back on buying others! I keep toying with the idea and ive been to see a few and there is always something that just isnt right! You appear to have nailed it here haja
