Hulloooo,

I don't really know how to say this, so I'm just going to say it. I've bought a 1990 MK2 Golf Driver (1.6) to replace the yellow perril (my N/A). I'm a bit upset, but then again a car is a car and I need something a bit quicker and a bit better on fuel for all the long runs to Ipswich from Leeds. I didnt fancy anything gay looking, so this will have to do. I'm staying on here though!

Oh, and is anyone interested in buying my 2.5 N/A 90? Nearly everything is new or has been replaced. The chassis is solid and the engine was rebuilt a few thousand miles ago. It needs to go. Im looking for about £1000. It's a gud'un ;)

Can you not mothball it for a while?

£1000 is a £1000 but it's not that much if you know what I mean - isn't it worth more to you that £1000?

Dont you love the yellow thing Pos? has it upset you? no one will buy it, you might as well keep it!? when things get better you will wish you never sold it. etc. etc. etc.

Yeah also, think of the time and love you put into it, unless you never want another one again you are only selling a good'un to have to do it all over again to another one down the line.

You will say "I wish I kept mine, I had already fixed this, oh and this and this, and what did I get for it £1000 and I spent it all on polish for my Golf!"

Put it off the road by all means and get it on "stored only" insurance (get your dad to insure it) and every now and again you can tinker with it!
 
After selling my first landy that I'd spent so long sorting out and turning into what I wanted, I've never had the same affection or motivation for any of my others since. :mad:

If you sell it you WILL regret it.:eek:

Issues as in the head gasket blowing because I didnt seat it properly? yes! It's running better than ever now. Just got a slight leak from the back of the timing case. Sailed through it's last MOT, only advisory being wheel bearings needing tightening. I've done that :)
