Good day gents;
well as it says,i spent half of the day today ripping everything appart on the bulk head trying to detect a water leak from rain,pollen filters are drenched with water,cleaned everything up,applied sealant all over the covers of the filters up down left and right,cleaned the canals from leaves and ****e,for sure it is water from the rain and car wash.
When i put the garden hose under the axles of the wipers under the plastic cover where the previous disintegrated foam sat no water is coming inside the rangy,put the plastic covers again pour water from the hose and it rains again inside,what is left to do,windscreen has been replaced and it is sealed properly,covers of the filters sealed properly,there is no holes what so ever on the bulk head nor corrosion,it must be something to do with the box where the pollen filters sits,i am confused,and it isn't coming from the sunrrof drains nor the pillars rubber near the doors.
A delima?sure not!! what am i missing?
thank you gents,suggestions and help will be appreciated.

George

I haven't tested it properly but I think that I found my water ingress in a rubber disc that is used to blank the hole where the righmost wiper would be in RHD cars (mine is LHD). If you take out the plastic grill that gives access to the (disintegrated) foam, it will be quite obvious.

cheers friend,but do u think this will fill the pollen filters with water to a level that will fill the air ducts and drip inside on the carpets?

First of all you live in Lebanon, why are you worried about rain?

You say that you've cleared the 'canals', are you certain that the drains at either end of the bulkhead are completely clear. They should be able to clear the water from a good going hose.

cheers mate;
lebanon is a coutry with 4 seasons,summer winter autumn and winter,we have sub zero temperatures in winters as well as heavy snow ice, black ice,in the winter we have 5 months of continuous rain with temp varying from -10 to 25,so basicaly we have rain for 5 months apart rain from time to time in the autumn,we don't have a desert but soon with the global warming we will lol.
so it its very important to stop my baby raining inside on the carpets,the canals are clear and water is running perfectly down behind the front mud flaps on both sides using running water from a garden hose.
i ended up sealing everthing as a last resort,the plastic covers of the pollen filters,the metal boxes that are attached with screws on the bulkhead under the plastic cover where the foam sits,lets see now if it will work evertyhing is properly sealed.
thanks my friend

Hi
Have you solved your water leak problem? I am having the same problem, tried sealing everything, but still leaks after it has been raining.
Thanks. Phil

I was plagued with water getting into the heater duct on the n/s (mine is RHD) and this fix has worked for me, not a drop in all weathers, nor anything getting into the car when hose washed -

Let's face it, there are only so many places that water will get in and if you are confident that you have cleared the drains thoroughly, then the next highest place has to be the culprit, and so on. If you have eliminated the drains, the best thing to do must be to strip everything back, removing pollen filter boxes, and to play with the hose. It can be a time consuming job getting things stripped back but as with so many things, it is often the easiest way in the long term.

Hi there is a metal plate over pollen filters with a screw in centre with a fibre washer this breaks down. replace with a rubber washer and cover with silicone

HI
I took the metal plate off the pollen filter, sealed the top and bottom where the gaskets are. I also sealed around the self tapper. Put it all back together, it rained the next and it still leaked.
thanks Phil
