A few of weeks ago I changed the front discs on the disco. After a couple of weeks I heard a distinctive clanking and grinding coming from the front right wheel.
I took the hub off and realised that two of the 14mm spline head bolts securing the disc had not been tightened correctly and had been damaged.
2 new bolts and a tube of nut loc sorted it.
However a few days later I heard a grinding noise from the wheel again so me and the boy had a look, pads seemed ok, disc seemed ok and the bearings were ok.
To totally eliminate the brakes we put it all back together except the pads and drove forward on a flat surface to listen for any noise.
There was a grinding noise! But From the bloody back wheel! Took it apart to find the pads down to metal.
Not too expensive to repair but bloody annoying all the same.
