Took the 110 in for its second MOT (with me anyway) on Monday and it failed on drivers seat unable to move (new this year apparently) and brakes unbalanced at the back.

So I left it at a friends while I could find the time to do it. The friend had a quiet day today so he decided to strip the rear brakes down and reassemble them, grease up the runner on the drivers seat, took it for its retest and job is a proverbial 'good-un'!

There were a couple of advisories, track rod end showing a little movement and corrosion on the chassis, but that is it! Not bad for an '84 110.

So now I have driven it for about 18 months and just over a year with the transplanted engine and gearbox I think it's about time I started making it good. Jobs I have are:

  • Fit R380 seatbox, tunnel and floors
  • Clean up the chassis and paint it
  • Rear disc conversion
  • Rebuild the door frames
  • Fit inertia seatbelts
  • Waterproof it!
  • Replace the rear crossmember with a better one
  • Re-tune the injector pump

I am sure there will be more. There always is.

Anyway, I am well chuffed here! I owe that man a drink!

Good shout on that! My seats are seized solid and I have my MOT Saturday! I'd best get mine moving!

According to the failure notice it is actually the back support that has to move, not the base. Strange because I know my base is very stiff but the back bit is (or was) fine.

But I picked it up yesterday and the seat back was almost horizontal so I think they got it working.
