It's a bad day for my 90 v8- failed mot on welding- Any welders near Winchester ?

Needs, driver's floor pan and quite a bit of chassis welding- I was quoted £800, seems a lot ! need to get some more quotes or it's not looking good for this 1986 machine.
 
I realise this is a bit predatory - apologies - but if you find the costs uneconomical I am looking for a project defender 90 - will pay cash - hope you are not offended [email protected]
 
I'm in the Winchester area. I have done some arc welding before but I don't have the gear here and not the time either. I guess I'm asking if any one knows of a good local welder. I not looking to offload the vehicle yet.
 
if you bring it here and do the stripping of parts,cutting and grinding I will weld it up for ya if our shedules can match
 
Thanks very much for your offer, it's probably beyond me to do the prep. I'm looking to get it all done and may as well get the A posts done as well, which don't fail MOT but look bad. I'm still trying to weigh up the options. Cheers
