Is there a light for 4 wheel drive

I have a 98 R reg 300tdi Discovery, and was wondering if, when you select the low range gears is there a light on the dash, that's supposed to come on to show your in 4 wheel drive low or diff lock, nothing comes on when you switch the ignition on, like the ignition, glow plug and oil lights do, and nothing when I select low range is this normal,am I missing a bulb or does it mean the there night be a problem with the low range, it works ok, but was wondering why no indication your in low, my wife's Nissan has a light on the dash, and was just wondering if the discovery should have.
I have no hand book to check this with........Thanks.

There should be a light that comes on on the dash when diff lock is engaged.

switch on t/box are prone to failure

no there should only be a light on when selecting diff lock low and high range have no indications

dont say a lot for what sort of people nissan expect to be driving their cars if they need a light to tell them theyre in low box
