Hi and thank you for the ad. my name is Justin and im trying to do some investigating on my friends 90.
She's bought it and wanted to know if the engine is original (after the purchase !!!???)
so its a 90 1987 D reg done 137000 the engine number and chassis number match the V5. but the engine is a 19L11214A
didn't those engine first appear in 1998??
thanks in advance for any answers.

The 19L is a variant of the 300tdi so not original.
Other variants 17L - 22L are little different from each other mostly what vehicle of the Land Rover range fitted to and if it had EGR.
Someone went to the trouble of having the V5 changed as should be done but often not.

Thank you. I did think that.

Take a look at the chassis engine mounts, as I think the 300 will not sit on the earlier chassis mounts, so one side has to be modified to make it fit.

Or you will have a very odd looking conversion bracket bolted to the engine that wraps around the oil Filter so you can use the original chassis mounts.
