Is my defender worth £10K?? No, I doubt it...

I wouldn't sell my 90 for any less then £7500 and its a 1985 200tdi, but it has lots of extras

I agree serten mods are work the money but only to the right person, I have no idea on how to value something like yours or mine,

Mine just got 12 months mot 2 days ago, caged spots on cage, rear locker front trutrac, 2" lift with +2" dampers poly bushed,5x insa turbo special tracks o. Wellers, NATO hitch front extreme winch bumper, warn xd9000 winch resent strip down and clean, new solinoid wonder lead and dash switch, synthetic rope, diff guards steering guard, rock sliders, cb radio, alpine stereo, electric fan extended breather to top of snorkel wading plugs.

recent work

New bearings all round, new front discs and pads, rear pads rear calipers. All fluids changed, new thermostat new front half shaft and cv, probs loads more i carnt rember,

It's only worth what some one is willing to pay,

I think 3k for a 300tdi that's solid is fair, as for what all the mods total I don't want to add it up never mind all my time,

Ok looking at this thread............

If some one took a fender and did a total rebuild, new galvanized chassis, Rebuilt 300 motor, rebuild all axles and diffs, trans and transfer box, new brakes, discs, pads, calipers, and everything else to make as new. What would you say would be a fair price

I have noticed recently the amount of stupid prices being thrown around, I have seen 96 Disco 300's priced at nearly £3K, 1980's 90's priced at £5K+ and even some 200TDi defenders priced at near on £10K!!!:eek:

I know theres snow tax but theres no snow... whats going on...

Flux values my '87 90 soft top at £7.5k thanks to the various bits, but only in the sense that that's what I'd have to spend to replace it in terms of parts to fit to a £3-5k base vehicle. All a bit of a mess though, Landy values. Fact remains that they are all worth vastly less than the sum of their parts if you've spent money on them, sadly. If I ever total mine, God forbid, I'll buy the wreck from the insurers and strip it.
