sold first defender 5 years ago. Need another in my life. All guidance appreciated

Hi folks, Bought my first defender 10 years ago. She was a 1992 defender 90 200tdi. Used her as my daily car, for towing my caravan and accessing places to kayak and for hill climbing. Looking for the same again. My Goodness how the prices have shot up!!!
Looking for a late 90's defender 90 again, most probably a 300tdi. I have two kids so will need to stick two forward facing front seats in the back.
Noticed some are classified as a car and some as a van. Hoping for some advice on the difference in insuring same> road tax costs and can car no claims be transferred back and forth from car>van>car.
All words of wisdom appreciated....and if you see a tidy 90 for under 10k nearish Hamilton please let me know.

For value for money look at discos. Will do almost as well as a fender off road and miles better to sit in and drive. If you insist on a fender try the defender section for some tips.
