Hi guys

theres some cheap electric heated seats local to me, fully functional but heavy wear, is it possible, and how easy/hard, to swap the actual seats over from a non electric to electric base, and also to fit them in to a p38 thats non electric seat and get them working ?

ok cool il have a look, i know d need the looms

but as asked....is it easy to swap the actual seat over ? ie all the leather, cusions, to the electric baases ?

If you're an upholsterer i would think it's easy, if not, maybe a lot of care and a little head scratching is needed, but possible.

i reckon your right oldun

well they are cheap, my leather is nice but not electric, if it was "easy" and not too ahrd a job it would be worth it wouldn it, but i dont want a total nightmare

still need to get my heated seat fixed aswell before winter really

The heater wires are actually under the leather ontop of the foam....so you could just replace the seat squab(?) cushions and the back rest onto your frames, and as mentioned the Hi-line BeCM and the switches on the HEVAC....

thanks guys il look in to it and see if i can find it on there, althouh switches on the hevac ? what for ? (if you mean the heated seat switches, mine already has them and heated seats) but not electric seats, but is that just a case of the wires in to the loom and controling them via the switches on the base ?

The electric seat motors are operated from the BECM in response to the switches, or the lazy seat function from the FOB, which also adjusts the rear view mirrors. I am presuming that all electric seats have the memory function, others will correct me if I'm wrong.:)
