So in last months Land Rover Monthly it was said that the LandRover RangeRover P38 (which I lovingly own one myself :) ) was top of the poll for unreliablity THEN in this months Land Rover Monthly its now saying that the P38 is 'actually better than you think' AND could be a future classic mmmmmm so what's it to be? What ever it is, I love my big green beast :)

Mmmmmm...i havent seen this months but had a good read of last months. I thought it was an unfair comparison to make of the 4 models. The Classic is deemed almost iconic in the Landy world so is never going to be bottom of the list. The P38 was an ambitious leap from the Classic although suffered from early model niggles & as they say, its getting to the age now where multiple owners & lack of maintenance give it a bad rep . The leap the L322 made IMO is less then the P38 made. The L405 is just too new to make any comparison at all.
I love my P38 & do believe it is better than the bad rep it gets (waiting for Data to disagree on this) but i honestly cant see it becoming a future classic. If someone re-engineered the original Classic then that would be interesting.

I own a 1998 4.6 ltd ed p38 use it every day and never been a problem.. Starts on the button purrs like a pussy cat .... And the bet bit it's on LPG .. Want my advice ? Find one ,drive one , and love one ..

Yeah they called the P38 unreliable and then didn't mention any of the common L322 faults including the chocolate transmissions.
