Hi all
I’ve just fitted my 3rd intercooler hose to our FL2. I know it’s a common weak spot. This time I’ve gone silicone! However the EML came on and as I was riddled with Covid when I fitted it the first time, I thought I’d take it all apart clean a refit. She drives fine , no smoke but after 3 days the EML is back.
I’ve read the EGR valve could be knackered. Found 2nd hand for £35 on the bay…. New is £450 plus. Or do I blank it off for £4.50! Clear the code and go?

Also I forgot to mention when I took the intercooler pipe off to check and reconnect, there was oil splurge inside which I cleaned out. Could that be the intercooler shot?
Thanks for your help

Oil comes from the crankcase breather system, but can build up in the intercooler.
However unless the intercooler is leaking, there's no need to replace it, just clean the oil out.

Under boost codes normally derive from boost hose leaks, so that's where to start.
There are 4 to check.
I've also seen the solid boost pipe under the engine rust through, and a split intercooler will also cause low boost codes.

Cheers, I’ll start checking.
Thanks for your advice as always :)
