Just renewed my insurance with Adrian Flux, found the to be by far the cheapest quote wit the best cover, i used them years ago (when i was young(er)) when i had daft cars like sierra cosworths and found them to good with younger drivers too, make sure you have done your pass plus and are a member of a club as this will help discount your premium.

last year when i was 17 my first car was a 2.0 litre freelander XDI.

only company i could use was a company called quinn direct.

they seemed to be some £2000 cheaper than other companys.

just renewed this year on my freelander with the same company with 1 years no claims.

so all good.

it worked out cheaper for me to get insured on my 2.0 litre beast than a 1 litre corsa !!! lol

result !

I got my 1.8 freeby when i was 18. Went with ecarinsurance.com or somethink as i could pay monthly and not be tied in. Got a no claims off em as well. Worked out at just over £3000 for my first year of driving.

After a year went with adrian flux... £900.

Both third party fire and theft tho.

damm 3 grand was alot !

i thought my 1800 quid was enough and thats on a 2.0litre.

what cover was that £3000 for ? fully comp ?

That was third party fire and theft. Fully comp was over £5000 for me.

Location drastically alters the price though. Crewe isn't the best place to own a car.

It's worth getting a quote both for fully comp and third party, fire and theft. My fully comp policy was actually CHEAPER than a third party fire and theft policy with the same insurer! That was with Direct Line though. The only reason I'm still with them is because I transferred the policy from my old car to my Landy. I hope to go with an insurance company that caters more for 4x4's next time.
