Is there any way to get the full factory spec, including options, for my 2001 D2?

It's probably impossible, I know; but is there anywhere that information exists? Would LR themselves still hold it this far down the line?

I think that a few of the mods on my car were probably actually factory fitted, and so I shouldn't have to list them on my insurance. But I presume the onus will lie on me to have some evidence of that before any insurer will believe me.

Things like the tow bar, nudge bar, and secondary lights all appear to be exactly as listed in the fitting instructions pack I have, so I suspect they're original.

They can't prove otherwise just like you. If they are Land Rover stamped then I would class them as factory option. Get a sale brochure for that year to prove they were factory fitted options.

Hi, you used to be able to put your chassis no in, on the JLR website & get the build spec for any given vehicle (I used it on my 2001 D2 when I got it in 2020 but not sure if you still can). My D2 is the ES premium & was owned by a mate from new. He ordered it with genuine light bar/safari driving lamps/side steps/light guards & rear A/C. Apart from the rear A/C the other items were all dealer fitted (as I suspect your items were) & only the rear A/C showed up on my build spec search (I also did the same 'build spec' search for my 2004 FL1 back in 2017). All the best.

JLR site says mine is too old, directs me to TOPIx which has only the barest of info (and lists it as a 2002 when it has a 51 number plate and was purchased in Sept 01). Maybe that just means the dealer fitted the bits, not the factory. Surely that still counts as original spec for insurance purposes?

I suspect TOPIx is showing 2002 as the Model Year, not the year of registration. My D2 was first registered in June 2002 yet shows on TOPIx as a 2003 Model Year car.
