HELLO ALL,
just bought a genuine a-bar fog light l/r kit for my landy
comes with wiring switches etc,it fits all pre facelift landys,
does anywhone know where the grey socket fits in the interior fuse box,
the instructions say fit grey socket into cavity c591,
ime assuming that its behind the fusebox but i really cant find it,
anybody know where it is???
thanks jeff :)

its on the back of the fuse box, about bottom centre. the diagram in the instructions shows the back of the panel, theres kind of a division down the centre. it should be possible to locate it by feel - I managed the same a few weeks ago.
hardest part was routing the wires through the bulkhead, the instructions say to do it on the nearside but you come up against the back of the fan and heater, so I came through the same grommet on the offside where there are no obstructions - come through a bit above the bonnet release cable.

Guys,just Had A Quick Feel,
Felt Four Connection Boxes On The Bottom Of The Box,
Next To A Solid Box On The Right Hand Side,
Shoved My Finger In Them And There Dosent Seem To Be Any Spades In Them, given That The Connector On The Loom Is A Female Would Have Expected To Feel Some Spades,
What Number Box Does It Fit In? 3?
Thanks Jeff

Thanks For The Thought Mondo, the Relay Goes On A Dedicated Connector On The Loom No Probs There,
Steve You Said That You Routed The Loom Through The Drivers Side Grommet?did You Route The Loom Across The Front Bulkhead And Not Under The Front Fuse Box As Reccomended?sounds A Lot Easier Than Messing Around With The Fuse Box, Top Tip Thanks

it is a small vertical socket, nearest the centre at the bottom back. the central lug of the plug on the loom points way from the centre of the fuse panel. I tried to get under to have a look but just went for feel after an age! it went straight in so to speak!
one side of the back of the fuse panel has only two large sockets, the one you are looking for is on the side with 10 positions.
never felt for any spades...
the instructions also refer to having to bolt the relay alomgside the fuse box, but on my vehicle there was a spare tab to clip it on to.
what switch have you got, alongside instrument binnacle or in the small cubby to the lower right?

just routed loom in exactly mirror fashion to that described, so followed other cabling up the drivers side wing, then cut the nipple of the rubber grommet as shown in the manual, just that this one is not hidden under the engine bay fuse box and you can physically see the underside of it above the accelerator pedal. taped cabling to a wire coathanger and hey presto!
and remember to unlock all the doors before disconnecting the battery, i forgot and only had the drivers door unlocked and would have been useful to climb in from both sides.
can't think why they send you up the left side where there are so many more obstructions?

Thanks Steve,my Switch Is Located On The Instrument Cowling(left Hand Side)cant See Any Probs With Routing That Around The Back Of The Instruments As Described In The Instructions,
On The Rear Of My Fuse Box I Have...to The Right As You Are Looking At It,
A Large Covered Box Covers About Half Of The Box ,to The Left On The Very Bottom Of The Box There Are 4 Open Sockets With A Wired Loom Next To That, from What You Have Said It Looks Like I Need The Middle Socket Of The Four, only One Of Them Feels Like The Right Size Anyway,
Routing The Cable Through The Drivers Side Sounds Like The Best Option I Dont Have A Problem With That, Sorry To Go On Thanks For All Youre Help Jiffy

Hoorah Finally Found The Illusive Socket To Plug Into, done All The Inside Wiring Now,
Just Need To Route The Loom Through The Bulkhead,
Ps The Original Wiring Attatched To The Blank Switch Dosent Work(i Tried It)
Thanks For All The Help And Advice special Thanks To Steve
