I don't know if rear facing speakers on there own would be very effective, I have four and with fader the set 50 / 50 the front speakers are definitely the ones that give most of the sound.

Alternatively you could get the housings that fit them at the rear of the tub, I personally didn't go for this solution as I thought I might damage them when carrying rubbish in the back.

I understand what your saying, im thinking about maybe putting 2 speakers in the headlining right above the seats. The thing with speakers being so low down is that when i get in after work with my steel toe cap boots ill destroy them in a short amount of time.

Being 17 i dont really have the money to spend £80 on just 1 door card, hence why im thinking of putting it in the headlining as ive already got it in my 90 and it seems a logical place to put it. The only problem i can think of is space between the headlining and the roof, is there enough space for speakers?

This is what I use, no messing with wires, take it out with you , play whatever you want bluetooth from phone.

I was thinking about that, but me being me id rather have a permanent system.

You can get small speakers that fit into the dash beside the stereo unit - that way they are pointing at you and have a chance of being heard. I've also fitted a second set of larger speakers bolted to brackets that are themselves bolted to the internal gutter just behind the headlining. These are a set of domestic 50w surround speakers that were going spare. I've set them up pointed at the headrest of the seat on the other side. That way I can hear the music even at 60mph.

If I'm going 60mph, I want to hear my engine!

That’s an idea mounting them on the gutter rail. I’m just trying to figure out if I can get speakers in the headlining or not.

There is enough space between the headlining and the roof, that is where I have mine. If I remember (keep forgetting) I will get a picture for you.
